New car sales in the Philippines fly from record to record: up an estimated 32% year-on-year over the first 4 months of 2015 to 108.458 registrations. Toyota is more dominant than ever at 47.079 registrations and 43.4% share, and while it monopolises the podium over the Full Year 2014, this time the four best-selling nameplates in the country are Toyotas: the Vios remains the overall best-seller with 10.5% share above the Fortuner at 7.5%, Innova at 6% and Hiace at 5.5%, all improving their market shares compared to 2014. Mitsubishi is the #2 carmaker with 14.7% share ahead of Ford (8.5%), Isuzu (5.7%) and Honda (5.3%).
The Toyota Vios remains the best-seller in the Philippines.
Chinese manufacturer BAIC has landed in the Philippines.
The Wigo at #6 and Hilux at #10 make it 6 Toyotas in the Top 10. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport drops one spot to #4 and we welcome both the Isuzu MU-X (#8) and Ford Ecosport (#9) for the first time in the Filipino Top 10. Finally, let’s notice the arrival of Chinese manufacturer BAIC (for Beijing Auto) placing the MZ40 at #101, the MZ45 at #159, the A113/A115 at #163 and the X424 at #172.
