New Zealand May 2015: Ford Ranger cements newfound leadership

The Kiwi new car market pauses its growth in May, just: down 30 units year-on-year to 10.034 registrations but still up 6% year-to-date at 52.623 units. Below Toyota sovereign at 16% share, Holden (11%) reclaims the #2 spot it holds year-to-date off Ford (10.2%) with Mazda (8%), Nissan (7.1%) and Hyundai (6.8%) following. After snapping the year-to-date top spot last month, the Ford Ranger confirms it is the new king of the models sales charts at 511 deliveries (5.1%) in May, now adding up to 2.307 units year-to-date (4.4%) vs. 2.102 for the Toyota Hilux and 1.963 for the Toyota Corolla. The Nissan Navara brilliantly remains on the podium at #3, the Mazda CX-5 and Holden Captiva are both up 4 spots on April to #6 and #7, the Hyundai Santa Fe is up 4 to #10, the Mitsubishi ASX up to #15, the Isuzu D-Max up a further two to #16 and the Toyota Camry up to #20.
