Vietnamese new vehicle sales continue to display explosive growth: +41% year-on-year in March to 16,399 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 48,707 units, up a mammoth 62% on 2014. Euphoric times indeed in Vietnam. This month Thaco-Kia takes the advantage over Toyota thanks to very strong medium/heavy commercial vehicle sales with 4.506 deliveries and 27.5% share vs. 3,742 and 22.8% for the Japanese manufacturer, with the two carmakers holding just over half of the Vietnamese market at 50.3%. Yet Toyota monopolises the passenger car podium with the Vios very solid again at 7.2% share above the Fortuner (5.3%) and Innova (4.7%), but the hero of the month is the Mazda3 up to a fantastic 4th place with 592 units sold and 3.6% share. The Ford Ranger also fares extremely well in March, up 8 spots to #6 and 2.7% as does the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (#18).
