Taiwan April 2015: Mazda3 improves again to #7

The Taiwanese new car market is down 1.3% year-on-year in April to 33,790 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 140,601 units, up 5% on 2014. Toyota holds the fort as usual with a mammoth 28.9% market share above Mitsubishi/CMC (10.3%) now also #2 year-to-date, Nissan/Infiniti (9.3%), Honda (6.2%), Mercedes (5.8%) and BMW (5.5%). Local manufacturer Luxgen is knocked outside the Top 10 to #12. Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla posts a particularly strong month at 10.6% share and is one of 4 Toyotas in the Top 4 along with the RAV4, Yaris and Wish, all holding 3.4% of the market. The Mazda3 continues its fantastic run, up a further 3 spots on March to 7th overall with 3% share whereas it ranked #34 over the Full Year 2014.
