Panama Full Year 2014: Toyota Hilux leads, Yaris shoots up

The Toyota Yaris hatch on sale in Panama is the Thai/Chinese spec, not US.

New car sales in Panama are up by a dynamic 7% year-on-year in 2014 to 60.304 registrations.  If in 2013 Toyota just edged past Hyundai (only 105 additional sales), this year the Japanese manufacturer’s advance atop the sales charts extends to a very comfortable 5 share points thanks to deliveries up 19% to 14.223 vs. sales down 10% at Hyundai to 10.640. Kia and Nissan keep their rankings while Honda overtakes Suzuki for 5th place. The Toyota Hilux posts a second consecutive year in the models pole position (+10%), now followed by the Toyota Yaris (+54%) and Hyundai Accent (-9%). The Kia Rio and Picanto deliver significant gains and the Hyundai i10 and Kia Sportage leap back inside the annual Top 10.
