Kazakhstan February 2015: Lada Granta & Hyundai Accent on top

The Lada Granta cements its newly acquired leadership of the Kazakh market.

New car sales in Kazakhstan are down 15% year-on-year to 9,226 registrations, a clear improvement on the -29% of January which brings the year-to-date total to 17,021 units, down 21% on 2014. Lada astoundingly manages to deliver a market share more than double that it holds at home in Russia with 39.1% in February (vs. 18.4%) and 36.7% year-to-date (vs. 16.9%). Hyundai (15.6%) and Kia (9.1%) are strong but Toyota (5.2%) is down two spots on January to #4. Geely is up to #11, Kamaz up to #13 and Infiniti remains at #19. Model-wise, Lada places 3 nameplates inside the Top 4 this month: the Granta holds a spectacular 13.1% share in pole position, with the Largus (9.9% and #3) and Priora (9.5% and #4) also impressive. The Hyundai Accent flies up to 12% share thanks to 1,103 sales, the Hyundai Elantra is up to #10, the UAZ Bukhanka up to #11 and the UAZ Patriot up to #13 vs. #49 in 2014.
