Venezuela January 2015: Market at standstill again with 683 sales

The 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer is the best-selling vehicle in Venezuela this month.

Hopes that the Venezuelan new car market had turned the corner when 5,274 new vehicles were registered in December are squashed in January with only 683 units finding a new home. In this shrunk environment, only Mitsubishi with a gargantuan 45.3% market share, Ford (22.3%) and Toyota (19%) have managed to maintain somewhat of an activity. The previous generation Mitsubishi Lancer is the most popular nameplate in the country this month with a meagre 177 sales above the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Canter, Ford Explorer and Ecosport.
