New car sales in Croatia are up a very energetic 17% year-on-year in January to 2,424 registrations, and Volkswagen starts 2015 all guns blazing with over 20% market share thanks to 494 sales, compared to 16.1% over the Full Year 2014. Fittingly, the German manufacturer places its two star models in the Top 2 spots this month, and way above the competition: the Polo holds 7.2% of the market and the Golf 7%. Leader in 2014, the Skoda Octavia is knocked down to #3 with 4.4%, just above the Dacia Duster – excelling at #4 and 4.2% share and lifting the Dacia brand up to equal 5th with Peugeot and below just Volkswagen, Skoda, Renault and Opel. Notice also the Kia Cee’d up to #7, the Mazda3 up to #10 and the Peugeot 2008 breaking into the Croatian Top 20 for the 2nd time ever after last November at a record 14th place.
