Still no sparks for French new car sales, down 0.4% year-on-year over the first 3 weeks of October. Peugeot keeps the lead for now thanks to sales up 7% vs. -1% for Renault in 2nd place while Citroen is up 4% in third step. Volkswagen stays 4th but drops 1%, Dacia is up a huge 32% but doesn’t have any models in the Top 10, Ford is up 14% and overtakes Toyota down 22%. The Renault Clio is now way above any other vehicle in the country in the models sales charts with 4,570 units sold over the period. While the Peugeot 308 still battles with its little sister the Peugeot 208 for the brand’s supremacy (4,030 sales vs. 3,969), the Citroen C3 jumps up to 2nd place thanks to 4,040 units. The Peugeot 2008 at #5 makes it 3 Peugeots in the Top 5 vs. just one Renault, even though we welcome back the Scénic (#8) and Captur (#10) in the Top 10.
