While the rest of Europe is seeing la vie en rose and will register its first positive year since 2007, the outlook for the French market is still grey: after 18 days in November it is down 6% on the same month last year which was the worst in 16 years… Brand-wise, Peugeot stays on top for now with sales down just 1% above Renault (-18%) and Citroen (-20%). Volkswagen (+1%), Dacia (+6%), Toyota (+3%), Nissan (+10%), Ford (+7%) and Opel (+3%) buck the trend and register YOY gains. French manufacturers only account for 43% of sales so far in November. The Peugeot 208 surprises and actually improves on the same period last month at +4% to keep the lead ahead of the Peugeot 308 (+71%) and Renault Clio IV (-7%). The VW Polo (+9%) remains inside the Top 5, and the only foreigner in the Top 10 now that the Toyota Yaris and VW Golf dropped off. The Peugeot 2008 is up to #6 and the Dacia Duster is up 125% to #10.
