New car sales in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory located North-East of Australia, are back into negative in April: down 8% year-on-year to 761 registrations which brings the year-to-date total to 3,285 units, down 4% on 2013. The Ford Ranger remains the most popular vehicle on the island by far thanks to 72 sales and 9.5% share while the Toyota Hilux passes the Dacia Duster to reclaim a 2nd spot it held over the Full Year 2013. The Ford Fiesta is up one rank on March to #4, the Renault Clio up 5 to #5 and the Renault Twingo shoots up to #6 vs. #31 year-to-date, potentially due to runout prices linked to the imminent arrival of the new generation of the model. Notice also the Dongfeng Utah at #27 as Chinese models have reached this part of France.
