The Irish new car market is up a whopping 34% year-on-year in March to 14,356 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 49,960 units, up an equally impressive 27% on 2013. Now that the new generation is well and truly established, the Nissan Qashqai kills the competition to take the lead of the Irish models ranking in March with 1,060 sales and 7.4% share vs. 738 and 5.1% for the VW Golf and 664 and 4.6% for the Ford Focus, and reshaping the year-to-date podium to be exactly like the FY2013 one (1. Golf 2. Qashqai 3. Focus). It is the first time since last May that the Qashqai tops the Irish sales charts. Other great performers this month in Ireland include the Renault Clio up 16 spots on February to #7, the Dacia Duster up 21 to #14, VW Tiguan up 13 to #17 and Opel Mokka up 15 to #23.
