Iceland Full Year 2013: Skoda Octavia reclaims pole position

After surging by 55% in 2012, the Icelandic new car market is back into negative territory in 2013, down 10% to 7,635 registrations. Leader in 2011 but down to 2nd place last year, the Skoda Octavia reclaims the pole position in 2013, boosted by the new generation of the model but still down 2% to 487 sales and 6.4% share. It kicks the Toyota Yaris down to #2 at 370 units and 4.8% (-29%) while the VW Golf is up a cool 24% to land on the third step of the podium with 306 sales and 4%.
The Toyota RAV4 is up 88% in 2013 in Iceland.
Other great performers inside the Icelandic Top 10 in 2013 are the Toyota RAV4 up 88% and 19 spots to #5 at 216 units and 2.8% thanks to the new model, the Toyota Auris up 12% to #6, Honda CR-V up 23% to #8 and Chevrolet Spark up 38% to #9. Notice also the Chevrolet Cruze doubling its sales to 168 at #13, the Chevrolet Captiva up 37% to #14, Kia Sportage up 56% to #15, the Dacia Duster multiplying its 2012 sales by 8 to 129 units at #19, Skoda Superb up 36% to #20, Ford Fiesta up 50% to #21, the Skoda Rapid landing directly at #25, the Renault Clio up 115% to #28, Honda Accord up to #32 and the Mazda6 up 210% to #34.
