6th consecutive month of year-on-year decline for Venezuelan new car sales in October, and it’s no small one: down a harsh 26% to just 8,057 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 90,007 units, down 18% on 2012. Kept away from its traditional pole position for the last 2 months, the Chevrolet Aveo is back with a vengeance and lodges its highest market share so far this year at a mammoth 20.1% thanks to 1,651 sales, enabling it to be back above 10% year-to-date at 10.9% and 9,818 units. Leader for the last 2 months, the Mitsubishi Lancer is down to #2 in October with a still excellent 8.1% and 649 sales, followed by the Chevrolet Orlando at 6.2%. The surprise of the month is the Dodge Forza, a locally-produced rebadged previous gen Fiat Siena, up to #5 with 461 units and 5.7%.
