Sweden July 2013: Peugeot 208 breaks into Top 10 for first time

A satisfying month of July for new car registrations in Sweden: up 0.5% year-on-year to 18,161 sales, which brings the year-to-date total to 147,061 units, down 8% on 2012. The entire Top 6 best-selling models is unchanged vs. June: the Volvo V70 leads the way as usual with 6.6% share and is the only model to sell over 1,000 units this month at 1,203. It is followed by the VW Passat (897), Volvo S/V60 (895), VW Golf (756) and Volvo V40 (595). The BMW 3 Series continues to progress and reaches an excellent 3.2% share this month at #6 thanks to 585 sales vs. 2.3% year-to-date.

Notice also the Kia Cee’d stable at #7 but up to 3% share. The best performer of the month is the Peugeot 208, breaking into the Swedish monthly Top 10 for the very first time, up 21 spots on June to #9 at 428 units and 2.4%, its previous best being #15 exactly one year ago in July 2012. Other great performers include the Toyota Avensis up 28 ranks to #17, the Citroen C4 up 24 to #26, BMW X3 up to #32, Mazda CX-5 up to #39 and the Dacia Duster breaking into the Swedish Top 50 for the first time at #43.
