Venezuela March 2013: Chevy Aveo & Ford Fiesta back on top

New car sales in Venezuela are still not feeling too good, down another 21% year-on-year in March to 12,039 registrations which brings the year-to-date total to 25,639 units, down 23% on 2012. After a couple of wild months, it would seem the top of the Venezuelan models ranking is stabilising again. Thanks to another month at #1 with 1,377 sales and 11.4%, the Chevrolet Aveo reclaims its pole position year-to-date at 2,343 units and 9.1%. The Ford Fiesta is up 8 spots on February to #2 with 800 sales and 6.6%, a position it held over the Full Year 2012.

The Mitsubishi Lancer continues to hold extremely well, up one further rank to #3 at 742 units and 6.2%, followed by the Ford F-350 with 682 sales and 5.7%. The DongFeng S30 confirms it’s not a one-month wonder and even though it drops 2 spots on February to #5 it still sells 649 units for a solid 5.4% share and ranks #3 year-to-date at 1,557 sales and 6.1%. Other great performers this month include the Chevrolet Cruze back up 25 spots to #7, Civetchi Mini up up 15 to #8, Haima 7 up 2 to #9 and Chevrolet Silverado up 21 to #10.
