Thanks to a secret admirer of BestSellingCarsBlog I am now able to share with you more detail about the UK models ranking – which is normally limited to a monthly Top 10. Over the last Quarter of 2012, the UK new car market is up a very healthy 9% year-on-year to 424,000 registrations. Interestingly, the Ford Focus is in the lead over the period with 18,594 sales and 4.4% share ahead of the Ford Fiesta at 17,993 units and 4.2% even though the Fiesta holds onto the pole position over the Full Year. The Vauxhall Astra brilliantly rounds up the podium with 15,898 sales and 3.7% vs. #4 and 3.1% in the Full Year.
Notice also the BMW 1 Series up to #9, Peugeot 208 up to #14, Vauxhall Zafira up to #15, Renault Clio up to #19, VW Up! up to #21 vs. #41 in the FY, Ford C-Max up to #24 and Skoda Octavia up to #25. Further down, the Kia Cee’d is up to #28, Mini Countryman up to #31, Honda CR-V up to #32 vs. #47 in the FY, Renault Megane up to #36 vs. #53 and the Hyundai i20 up to #40 vs. #56.
As far as new models are concerned, the Ford B-Max lands within the Top 50 at #46 with 2,899 sales and 0.7%, the Volvo V40 is up to #63 at 1,967 units and 0.5%, the Skoda Citigo up to #74 and the Vauxhall Mokka arrives at #105 with 903 sales.
