The Macedonian new car market starts the year in a pretty unusual way: up 13% year-on-year to 435 registrations, however this progression is only due to the delivery to the Minister of Interior of 150 Skoda Yeti. Without them, the market would be down 26% on January 2012… With the Yeti artificially at 35.6% market share (!), Skoda logically dominates the brands ranking for once with 176 sales and 40.5% ahead of Volkswagen at 14.3% and Ford at 4.8%.
This January figure should enable the Skoda Yeri to feature on the 2013 year-end podium even if it sells nothing all year… In 2nd place we find the VW Golf at 18 units and 4.1%, followed by the VW Passat at 3% and the Opel Astra at 2.3%. The Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Captiva and Skoda Octavia are equal #5 with 7 sales and 1.6% share.
