New Caledonia Full Year 2012: Ford Ranger keeps pole position

New Caledonia is a French overseas territory located North-East of Australia. In 2012, 11,072 new vehicles found a buyer there, down 6% year-on-year. The Ford Ranger is the most popular model in the territory for the 4th year in a row with 633 sales and 5.7%, but if it weren’t for the new generation, responsible for 170 sales this year, the title would have gone to the Dacia Duster, brilliant in 2nd place at 524 units and 4.7%, up 14%. The Toyota Hilux rounds up the podium with 453 sales and 4.1%, down 6%.
The Renault Clio, Nissan Navara and Peugeot 206+ are stable whereas the Ford Fiesta is up 38% and 8 ranks to #7, the DongFeng Utah is up 4% and 5 spots to #15 but the Great Wall Wingle remains the best-selling Chinese model in the territory at #13 with 184 units (-18%). Other great performers this year include the Ford Focus up 312% to #18, Kia Rio up 40% to #22, VW Golf up 89% to #24, Hyundai i10 up 61% to #28, Hyundai i20 up 215% to #37.
Newcomers in the Top 100 include the Nissan Juke landing at #23 with 123 sales, the Chevrolet Colorado at #35 and 84 units, the Range Rover Evoque up 1800% to #53 and the Subaru XV at #71.
