New car sales in Poland are up again in May at +4% year-on-year, bringing the year-to-date total to 142,375 units, up 10% on 2011. Like last month the models ranking podium stays unchanged and is identical to 2011′s and 2012 year-to-date’ rankings with the Skoda Octavia in pole position with 1,631 sales and a solid 6% market share, ahead of the Skoda Fabia at 1,023 units and 3.7% and the Opel Astra with 799 sales and 2.9%.

This month the Toyota Yaris is up 3 spots to #4 at 562 units and 2.1% and also #4 year-to-date. After breaking into the Polish Top 10 for the very first time in March and improving to a best-ever 6th place last month, the Dacia Duster hits its highest ever ranking in Poland for the third month in a row, breaking into the Top 5 for the first time at #5 albeit with a market share slightly down to 1.9% at 524 sales.
Other great performers this month include the Renault Megane up 7 spots to #7, the Kia Sportage holding itself within the Top 10 for the 2nd time in a row (and ever) at #9, the Honda Civic up 10 ranks to #26, the Kia Cee’d up 9 to #23, the Peugeot 208 breaking into the Top 50 for the first time, up 28 spots to #30, the Peugeot 508 up 12 to #38, the Fiat Doblo up 16 to #40, the Mitsubishi Colt up 18 to #59, the VW Up! up 46 to #69 and the Skoda Citigo up 53 to #86.
