New car sales in France are frankly in negative year-on-year again this week at 36,230 registrations, down 25%. Peugeot leads the manufacturers ranking with 16.2% share, ahead of Renault at 15.9% and Citroen at 14.4%. With the official launch of the Peugeot 208 imminent (29 March), it’s the last hurrah for its predecessor the Peugeot 207, #1 again this week with 1,922 sales and 5.3% share, just above the Renault Clio at 1,911 units.
The Citroen C3 rounds up the podium at 3.4%, followed by the Renault Megane at 3% and Scenic at 2.8%. For once, the VW Golf passes its little sister the Polo to become the best-selling foreign model in 6th position with 991 sales and 2.7%. Month-to-date the VW Golf has sold 2,566 units at 2.9% share for a 5th position that would be its highest ever in France if it manages to keep it until the end of the month, which is doubtful… Notice the Peugeot 3008 back in the Top 10.
