UK July 2011: Ford Fiesta and Focus kings of England

Another month in negative in the UK – the 13th in a row – with sales down 3.5% year-on-year at 131,634 units. The year-to-date figure stands at 1,161,272 registrations, down 7%. No waves in the models ranking in July: the monthly Top 6 is identical to the 2011 ranking, with the Ford Fiesta crowned for the 5th month in a row this year at 6,695 units and 5.1% and #1 in 2011 also at 5%.

The Ford Focus takes the 2nd spot again, and its market share has been growing steadily since April to reach 4.7% this month thanks to 6,235 sales, confirming its 2nd spot in 2011 at 50,060 units and 4.3%. The Vauxhall Corsa rounds out the podium at 3.9% while the Vauxhall Insignia stays extremely solid in 6th place at 3.1% share.

The BMW 3 Series at #7 and 2.8%, Nissan Qashqai at #9 and 2.6% and VW Passat at #10 and 1.9% all perform significantly better than their overall 2011 levels.
