South Korea April 2011: Hyundai Grandeur #1, Veloster arrives

The Hyundai Grandeur, above the Sonata in the Hyundai range, takes the lead of the South Korean market for the first time in April with 11,265 sales and 8.9% share. The Hyundai Avante drops one spot to #2 with 10,189 units and 8.1%, and the Kia Morning does the same at #3 with 9,359 sales and 7.4%.
Over the first 4 months of the year, the Hyundai Avante is still on top at 43,276 sales and 8.9%, ahead of the Morning and Grandeur. The Hyundai Sonata is at an unusually low 4th place with 8,568 sales, ahead of the Hyundai Porter and the Kia K5, extremely stable at 5.7% share. That’s 4 Hyundais in the Top 5! The Kia Sportage R is up 2 spots to #7.
The best new model this month is the Hyundai Veloster, landing directly in 25th position with 1,217 sales and 1% share. The new generation Chevrolet Aveo arrives at #35 with 441 units.
