Argentina 2009: Chevy Corsa new leader, 207 Compact #2
New car sales drop 16% in 2009 in Argentina at 515,008 registrations. Big changes atop the models ranking: the VW Gol is no longer the best selling car in Argentina. That is if we follow the official ACARA statistic that separate sales of the 4th gen Gol (#3 at 21,254 units) and those of the new, 5th gen Gol called Gol Trend in Argentina (#4 at 20,547 sales). The two versions add up to 41,801 sales which would earn them the first place.
Instead, the Chevrolet Corsa takes the lead at 5.4% of the market, in spite of sales dropping by 22%. The Peugeot 207 Compact (aka 206+) follows the tracks of the 206 and ranks #2 with 23,932 sales (4.6%). The Toyota Hilux stays #5, followed by the Ford Ecosport (+1 spot) and the VW Suran (+2 spots). Notice the Ford Ka at #11 (+9 spots) and the Renault Sandero at #14 (+ 27 spots).
