Poland 2006: Skoda Fabia and Opel Astra dominate

Very shy progression for the Polish car market in 2006, up 2% to a still mediocre 257,166 registrations. The Skoda Fabia is the favourite car in the country for the second consecutive year and the third overall with 16,473 sales and 6.4% share, down 2% year-on-year. The Opel Astra takes the 2nd spot at 14,573 units and 5.7%, up 37% while the Fiat Panda rounds up the podium with 13,019 sales and 5%, down 20%.

The Skoda Octavia continues its steady progression at +9% in 4th place with 10,801 units and 4.2%, while the Toyota Yaris is up 11% to #5, the Toyota Corolla stays #6 (+1%) and the Ford Focus is down to #7 (-13%). With the Grande Punto now in dealerships, the model is up 81% year-on-year to #8, followed by a record-breaking VW Passat up 79% and 11 spots to #9, its first time in the year-end Polish Top 10.
