After a few years of Fiat Uno domination, it’s now the Opel Corsa that takes the lead of the Portuguese models ranking in 1993 with no less than 26,879 sales for a mammoth 11.1% market share, helped by the new generation of the model launched this year and the arrival of the Uno’s replacement the all-new Fiat Punto. The Renault Clio stays #2 with 20,858 units and 8.6% while the Fiat Uno drops two spots to #3 at 20,473 sales and 8.4%.

Rover 400

The Ford Fiesta is a strong #4 with 15,664 units and 6.4%, the Opel Astra brilliantly leads its category at #5 with 12,331 units and 5.1% whereas the Peugeot 106 is up 3 ranks to #6, ahead of the Citroen AX, Renault 19 and Seat Ibiza. Other great performers include the Toyota Corolla at #11, the Honda Civic at #15, the Rover 200 at #16 and the Rover 400 at #17 (together they would rank #9!). There are 3 more Japanese models in the Top 25: the Nissan Micra at #19, the Nissan Sunny at #21 and the Honda Concerto at #23. Notice also the Hyundai Pony at #27.
