Czechoslovakia 1989: Skoda Favorit holds 44.5% share

Almost one in every two cars sold in Czechoslovakia in 1989 is a Skoda Favorit.

103,950 new cars hit Czech roads in 1989. Skoda holds a commanding 72.7% share thanks to over 75,000 sales. Romanian Oltcit comes in 2nd place with 12.6% share and only one model, the Club. Lada takes third position with 9.5% share and other marques are under 3% of the market, including Dacia at 2.4%. Model-wise, the Skoda Favorit scores a 44.5% share, distancing the Skoda 125 L at 26.9% and the Oltcit Club at 12.6%. The Lada 2105 and Daewoo Racer close the Top 5.
