UK nations October 2017: Citroen C3 and Toyota Aygo impress
The Citroen C3 is up to #3 in Northern Ireland this month.

Thanks to our partnership with SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in October. Keep in mind this is only a zoom in by nation, all sales figures will be included in the upcoming October UK update. England sets the tone this month with a 12.2% decline to 136.578 leading to a 4.2% year-to-date drop to 1.915.068. Two nations fare better than the average: Northern Ireland down 2.2% to 3.516 leading to a 5.2% YTD drop to 49.422 and Wales down 10.3% to 5.394, the same rate as YTD to 72.626. Scotland underperforms with a 14.7% skid to 12.306 units, a lot more than the -5.8% YTD to 181.786.
The Ford Fiesta is #1 in England, Scotland and Wales while the VW Golf reclaims the Northern Irish lead it holds YTD. In England and comparing with the UK Top 10, the Audi A3 overtakes the Kia Sportage to #6 and the Nissan Juke is inside the Top 10 instead of the Ford Kuga, which owes its UK Top 10 ranking to a 9th place in Northern Ireland and 3rd place in Wales. YTD in England, the Mercedes C-Class is now up to #5 vs. #8 in the UK overall. Other great performers this month include the Citroen C3 up to #3 in Northern Ireland, the Toyota Aygo up to #3 in Scotland, the Fiat 500 up to #5 in Scotland, the Vauxhall Mokka up to #8 in Northern Ireland and at #6 again in Wales, the Audi A1 up to #8 in Wales and the Vauxhall Insignia up to #10 in Scotland. Note the YTD leader in Scotland, the Vauxhall Corsa, is out of the Top 10 there this month.
