Denmark October 2017: VW Golf up 125% to #1 in record market
The VW Golf surges 125% year-on-year in Denmark in October.

After dropping an alarming 22.2% in September, the Danish new car market rallies back up 8.7% year-on-year in October to 18.557 units, a record for the month. This leads to a year-to-date volume up 0.9% to a record 187.231 sales. Brand leader Volkswagen trails the market at -1% to 13.3% share, equivalent to its YTD level. Peugeot (+14%) is back above Toyota (+26%), with Skoda (+22%) and Opel (+4%) rounding up the Top 5. Just below, both Suzuki and Ford surge 39% while Audi is up 34% to #9. Further down, Nissan (+63%), BMW (+55%), Mini (+50%), DS (+2250!) and Alfa Romeo (+310%) make themselves noticed. Model-wise, the VW Golf more than doubles its sales year-on-year (+125%) and jumps six spots on last month to cling the top spot, dislodging the VW Up (-28%). The Peugeot 208 (+7%) is back up two spots to #3 and comfortably retains its YTD lead. The Nissan Qashqai soars 93% to #5, the Toyota Aygo is up 26% to #6, the Skoda Citigo up 37% to #10, the Peugeot 3008 up 232% to #13 and the Opel Insignia up 640% to #14. Like last month, the Opel Crossland X (#43) dominates recent launches above the Toyota C-HR (#47), Suzuki Ignis (#59) and Kia Niro (#83).
