Vietnam July 2017: Honda (+2%) resists in market freefalling 26%
The Honda City is up 62% year-on-year in July in a market down 26%.

The Vietnamese new vehicle market is in difficulty in July with sales down a harsh 26% year-on-year to just 20.662 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 5% to 154.930 units. In spite of a 31% year-on-year drop, Thaco-Kia reclaims the manufacturers pole position off Toyota (-17%) while Ford (-10%) once again rounds up the podium. Mazda freefalls 37% but the rest of the Top 10 manages to stabilise their sales with Honda (+2%), Chevrolet (-3%), Hyundai (-4%), Isuzu (+5%), Mitsubishi (+0.2%) and Suzuki (-4%) all holding tight. Model-wise, the Toyota Vios is #1 once again at -18% but the Ford Ranger is catching up with a 4% improvement in 2nd place. The Toyota Fortuner soars 21% but drops to third place. Below the Kia Morning (-45%) and Mazda3 (-50%) crumbling apart, the Honda City drivers an outstanding 62% year-on-year gain at #6. Notice also the Mazda CX-5 up 25%, the Mitsubishi Triton up 43%, Chevrolet Colorado up 290% and the Ford Everest/Explorer up 620%.
