Liechtenstein Full Year 2016: Volkswagen AG places 10 models in Top 12
The VW Golf remains the best-selling nameplate in Liechtenstein with 5.2% share.

Liechtenstein is one of the rare European markets to suffer a year-on-year decline in 2016 at -3% to 1.984 registrations. The Top 4 best-selling carmakers are unchanged on last year with Volkswagen improving its presence to 18.5% thanks sales up 8% while 2nd-placed Audi drops 14% to 10.2%. BMW (-5%) and Mercedes (-8%) are also in negative but Skoda surges 21% and overtakes Seat (-24%) to land in 5th place. Other great performers include Suzuki (+12%), Subaru (+13%), Dacia (+19%), Mazda (+19%), Mitsubishi (+30%), Land Rover (+53%) and Tesla (+188%).
The Seat Alhambra achieves a world-best 2nd place in Liechtenstein like in 2015.
Over in the models ranking, the VW Golf remains comfortably on top in spite of sales down 20% to 103 and 5.2% share. It is followed like in 2015 by the Seat Alhambra, achieving a world best ranking here but also down 20%, with the Skoda Octavia (+19%), VW Tiguan (+195%), VW Polo (-32%) and Audi A4 (+43%) in tow. This means the Top 6 best-sellers in Liechtenstein are Volkswagen AG nameplates. The BMW X1 is the best of the rest at #7 ahead of the Mini. With the Skoda Fabia, VW Sharan, VW T6 and Audi Q3, Volkswagen AG even places 10 nameplates inside the Top 12… Notice also the Porsche Macan at #26, the Tesla Model S at #31 and Tesla Model X at #101
