Estonia Full Year 2016: Skoda Octavia reclaims top spot

The Estonian new car market is up 9% year-on-year in 2016 to 22.997 registrations, still led by Toyota improving its share to 14% thanks to deliveries up 18%. Skoda (+20%), Renault (+13%) and Volkswagen (+12%) follow, while Honda (+4%) and Kia (-16%) both overtake Nissan, struggling at -34%. Inside the Top 10, Subaru (+15%), Peugeot (+14%) and Dacia (+10%) also outpace the market. Outside, luxury brands account for the large majority of biggest gainers this year: Audi (+21%), Volvo (+25%), Mitsubishi (+32%), Lexus (+35%), Mercedes (+37%), Porsche (+38%), Mazda (+41%), Land Rover (+95%), Jaguar (+140%) Alfa Romeo (+183%), DS (+200%), Maserati (+300%) and Bentley (+600%) all take off in 2016.

The Toyota Avensis ranks #2 in Estonia in 2016. 

In the models ranking, the Skoda Octavia is back to a pole position it held in 2011 and 2014 thanks to sales soaring 28% to 1.139 and 5% share. It distances the Toyota Avensis (+11%), Auris (+14%) and last year’s leader, the Nissan Qashqai crashing down 37% to #4. The Dacia Duster gains 15% to break into the Top 5 and become the best-selling SUV in Estonia, overttaking the Honda CR-V (-7%). The VW Passat (+22%), Toyota RAV4 (+34%), Subaru Legacy (+13%) and Kia Sportage (+48%) also shine in the Top 10. Further down, notice the Skoda Superb up 176% to #12, the Honda HR-V up 429% to #199, Opel Astra up 66% to #24 and Audi Q5 up 102% to #28. The Renault Kadjar (#34), Hyundai Tucson (#36), Range Rover Sport (#38) and Mazda CX-3 (#39) also make themselves noticed.
