After gaining a whopping 50% year-on-year in October 2015, the Vietnamese new car market surges by a further 26% this year to 28.283 sales, lifting the year-to-date tally up 30 to 242.241 units. The three best-selling vehicle manufacturers Thaco-Kia (+30%), Toyota (+27%) and Mazda (+53%) all beat the market to improve their share, while Ford (+14%) is a little more timid. Honda (+50%), Mitsubishi (+55%), Hyundai (+101%), Nissan (+211%) and Lexus (+169%) impress. Model-wise, the Toyota Vios shoots back up 87% to return to the pole position it holds year-to-date thanks to 2.202 sales, frankly distancing the Kia Morning (+50%), Toyota Fortuner (+47%), Ford Ranger (+13%) and Mazda3 (+103%). The Mazda CX-5 (+129%), Honda City (+133%) and Ford Ecosport (+40%) also post strong improvements. We welcome the Nissan X-Trail directly into 17th place this month.
