The Austrian new car market gains a splendid 15% year-on-year in September to 29.836 sales, lifting the year-to-date tally up 6% to 252.178. Market leader Volkswagen beats the market with a 20% surge to 5.271 sales and 17.7% share, distancing 4 manufacturers all fitting within just 150 sales: Hyundai (+5%) back up from a paltry 10th place in August, Opel (+2%), Ford (+28%) and Skoda (-13%). Below, BMW (+25%), Renault (+28%), Mercedes (+31%), Fiat (+30%), Suzuki (+48%), Mini (+47%), Mitsubishi (+56%), Alfa Romeo (+91%), Land Rover (+52%), Tesla (+130%) and Jaguar (+89%) all post spectacular year-on-year gains. The Volkswagen Group monopolises the Top 5 best-selling models with the VW Golf in the lead as usual despite sales down 7% ahead of the VW Tiguan (+52%), VW Polo (+59%), Skoda Fabia (-25%) and Octavia (-5%).
