Today we can share with you for the first time on BSCB the 100 most popular models in the whole of Latin America for the first half of 2016, thanks to Autodato. The 22 markets forming the region add up to 2.6 million registrations, a 7.3% year-on-year decline mainly due to the struggle of the Brazilian market over the period (-25%). Mexico on the other hand, the second blockbuster market in the region, is up 18.5%, while Argentina is up 10%, Uruguay down 9% and Venezuela down 59%.

The Top 100 ranking sees a momentous shift atop the charts. Its tremendous success in Brazil, the largest market in the region, is now enough for the Chevrolet Onix to become most popular nameplate in the whole of Latin America for the very first time with 76.374 units vs. 62.346 (+22.5%) a year ago. This means the end of a decades-long reign for the VW Gol, down 11.8% to 63.925 units. The Toyota Hilux, #1 in Argentina, ranks third with 56.953 sales.
