Slovenia July 2016: Polo and Fiat 500 shine, Golf and Clio down

The Slovenian new car market is almost immobile in July, down 0.3% year-on-year to 5.062 registrations but still up 8% year-to-date to 40.029. Volkswagen is stable and remains by far the best-selling brand in the country with 16.2% share, distancing Skoda at 10.8% (-3%), Renault at 9.6% (-27%) and Opel at 8.6% (-1%). Fiat surges 93% to 5th place, Hyundai does even better at +122% to #7 while further down Dacia (+65%), Mitsubishi (+65%), Honda (+100%) and Suzuki (+203%) also impress. Model-wise, the VW Polo takes the lead with 230 sales and 4.5% share ahead of the Skoda Octavia at 4% and Fiat 500 at 3.8%, with the VW Golf (#4) and Renault Clio (#5) far below their respective YTD rankings of #2 and #1. The Skoda Fabia is up 6 spots on June to #7, the Kia Cee’d up 12 to #10, the VW Tiguan up 28 to #12 and the Hyundai i10 up 26 to #30.
