Pakistan January-February 2016: Suzuki Mehran back to #2

The valiant Suzuki Mehran is still a very successful nameplate in Pakistan.

After crossing the 200.000 annual sales milestone for the very first time in 2015, the Pakistani new car market continues to surge forward in January with sales of Pakistan-made models up 23% to 21.717 units but February marks a pause at -9% to 15.874 deliveries. The year-to-date total remains in positive at +7% to 37.591 sales. The Toyota Corolla remains the best-seller in the country despite sales down 6% over the period to 10.388 and the Suzuki Mehran reclaims the 2nd spot it held in 2014 with sales up 17% to 7.452. Heroes of 2015, the Suzuki Bolan (-37%) and Ravi (-47%) fall back on earth in February but 100%+ increases in January keep their year-to-date total in positive for now.
