Denmark January-February 2016: Peugeot 208 topples VW Up
The Peugeot 208 is the best-selling car in Denmark so far in 2016.

It would appear Danish consumers can’t buy enough cars: after five consecutive years at record levels, January volumes are up a further 3% to 16.436 units and February sales are up a spectacular 22% to 16.608, lifting the year-to-date total to 33.043 units, up 12% on the same period last year. Peugeot leads the market so far in 2016 with 3.970 sales and 12% share, overtaking the 2015 leader Volkswagen at 3.536 and 10.7%. Toyota (9.2%), Skoda (6.3%) and Ford (5.5%) follow. Similarly in the models ranking, the Peugeot 208 ranks #1 both in January and February to lead the year-to-date charts by far at 1.622 sales and 4.9% share, well above 2015 leader the VW Up at 1.175 and 3.6%. The Peugeot 308 jumps onto the podium at #3 above the Toyota Aygo and Yaris. The Opel Karl is #9 and the Nissan Qashqai is up to #11 vs. #18 in 2015 thanks to an excellent month of February (#5).
