Cyprus Full Year 2015: VW Golf edges past Qashqai in last minute win

The VW Golf is the best-selling model in Cyprus in 2015.

According to data provided by SEMO Cyprus and analysed by INNOSOFT, the Cypriot new car market is up by a splendid 25% year-on-year in 2015 to 10.344 registrations. Exactly like the Nissan Qashqai did last year, the VW Golf benefits from an unusually loaded December score (25.4% market share!) most probably due to an exceptionally large order of rental cars to snap a last minute win at 733 units and 7.1% share, an extravagant 155% improvement on 2014 when it ranked 5th. The Nissan Qashqai (661) is the victim this year, despite sales up 68%. The Ford Fiesta (+56%) and Kia Rio (+145%) follow, both overtaking the Toyota Yaris (+16%) down to #5. Notice also the Kia Sportage up 49%, the Nissan X-Trail up 5-fold to #8 thanks to the new model, the Renault Captur up 46% to #9. Further down, the Ford Kuga, Focus, VW Tiguan and BMW 2 Series also post spectacular gains.
