Netherlands November 2015: Peugeot 308 jumps to #1 year-to-date

The Peugeot 308 is headed towards its first ever Dutch annual win.

The Dutch new car market is up by a stunning 26% year-on-year in November to 40.516 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 8% to 380.367 units. Once again completely oblivious to its emissions turmoil raging all over the world, Volkswagen sees its sales shoot up 62% to 5.684 units and 14% share, a notch above the 12.7% it commands year-to-date. Peugeot also shines at +31% and 12.7% share vs. 9.2% so far in 2015 but Volvo trumps them all at +70% and 3.300 units and 8.1% share. Notice also Opel up 3 spots on last month to #4, Audi up 49% on November 2014, and outside the Top 10 Mercedes up 36%, Mitsubishi up 38%, Hyundai up 43%, Land Rover up 81%, Dacia up 85%, Mazda up 112% and Porsche up 167%.

The Volvo XC90 is up to #12 in the Netherlands this month.

In the models ranking, as predicted last month the Peugeot 308 races past the Renault Clio and VW Golf to snap the year-to-date pole position thanks to another gargantuan month at 4.011 sales and just under 10% share, lifting its 2015 total to 16.900 vs. 14.609 for the Golf and 14.524 for the Clio. Unless last minute disaster, the 308 should sign its first ever annual win in the Netherlands in a month time. This would be Peugeot’s 7th victory in the past 14 years and its first since 2008 when the 207 led the sales charts. Peugeot also placed the 206 in Dutch pole position in 2002, and the 307 from 2003 to 2005 while the 207 also finished tops in 2007. Other great performers in the models ranking include the VW Passat at #2, the Volvo V40 up to #3, the Mitsubishi Outlander at #7 and the Volvo XC90 up to a splendid 12th place, a much higher ranking than at home in Sweden.
