New car sales down 6% year-on-year in October pull the year-to-date Estonian market into negative territory at -0.4% to 18.089 registrations. Toyota stays on top albeit with a weaker market share this month at 11.9% vs. 13.2% so far this year, Renault jumps four spots on September to #2 and 9.8% share, Skoda remains third, Volkswagen is up one rank to #4, Hyundai up 3 to #7 and 5.8% vs. 3.7% year-to-date, Ford is up to #10 and 3.6% vs. 2.9% and Audi surges 9 ranks to #11 and 3.6% market share, almost double its year-to-date level of 1.9% (#15). Thanks to the new generation now in full throttle, the Toyota Avensis manages to snap up the Estonian pole position this month and for the first time since BSCB started following Estonia monthly a couple of years ago. The Nissan Qashqai, although knocked down to 2nd place, continues to lead the year-to-date ranking with ease at 5.5% share. Other great October performers include the Renault Mégane up 36 spots on September to #3 and almost single-handedly responsible for Renault’s performance this month, the VW Passat is up 6 ranks to #5, the Dacia Duster up 3 to #7 and the Honda HR-V advances 28 spots to #18 while the Hyundai Tucson remains inside the Top 20 at #17.
