The Chilean new car market is back to hell in July: down a harsh 19% year-on-year to just 22.247 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 152.740 units, down 21% on 2014. Full year 2015 forecasts now stand at 258.000 sales, or back to the recession levels of 2008-2009. After being toppled by Kia last month, Chevrolet resumes its traditional domination of the sales charts albeit still with a particularly weak market share at 10.4% and 2.322 sales vs. 13.1% year-to-date. Koreans Kia (9.5%) and Hyundai (9.4%) follow ahead of Suzuki, Nissan and Toyota, replicating the 2015 order. Mazda and Ford overtake Mitsubishi to rank #7 and #8 respectively, and Chinese manufacturers remain at a high level with 9% share thanks to 2.013 sales vs. 8.4% so far in 2015. They are led this month by Great Wall (#17), Chery (#19), Changan (#22), JAC (#23) and Dongfeng (#24).
