Israel April 2015: Kia Sportage leaps to pole position
The Kia Sportage is the best-selling car in Israel in April.

The Israeli new car market is down 4% year-on-year in April to 17.674 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 97.674 units, up 8% on 2014. Thanks to sales up a booming 37% on a year ago, Kia manages to post its 2nd consecutive month as #1 brand in the country with 2.560 units, just above Toyota at 2.503 and 14.2% while Hyundai sinks to third place overall at 2.059 sales and 11.6%, still however in the lead year-to-date (12.5%) as it was over the FY2014. Skoda jumps 19% year-on-year and 4 spots on March to #4, Seat is up 28% at #10, Subaru up 88% at #12, Audi up 43% at #16, BMW up 89% to #20 and Lexus up 84% to #23 while Dacia ranks 22nd for its 5th month in market with 187 sales and 1.1% share. Model-wise, thanks to 966 sales and 5.5% share, the Kia Sportage takes the lead of the charts for the first time, outpacing both the Toyota Corolla (940) and Kia Picanto (866) that led the ranking last month. The Mazda3 is back up 3 spots on March to #4, the Toyota Yaris up 7 to #6 and the Toyota RAV4 up 25 to #19.
