Austria March 2015: Ford Focus surges to 2nd place, Hyundai ix35 #5

The Austrian new car market is up 5% year-on-year in Austria to 31,086 registrations, bringing the first quarter total to 75,154 units, still down a significant 7.5% on 2014. Volkswagen continues to reign supreme with 4,911 sales and 15.8% share, but is followed this month by Opel with 2,312 deliveries and 7.4%. Ford rounds up the podium at 2,112 units and 6.8% above Skoda (#2 year-to-date) at a round 2,000 sales and 6.4% and Hyundai at 1,923 and 6.2%. Peugeot is up to #10 and Mazda up to #11. In the models ranking, below the VW Golf still in the lead despite sales down 19% over Q1, the Ford Focus is up 8 spots on February to land at #2 and 2.7% share, above the Skoda Octavia, while the Hyundai ix35 improves further to an astounding 5th place. Notice also the Opel Astra at #10 (+64% over Q1), the Mazda3 up to #13 and Nissan Qashqai at #15.
