Difficult year for new car sales in Serbia, down 10% on 2013 to 20,240 registrations according to data communicated by Central European market data specialists www.ceauto.co.hu. Handicapped by local production idled during the year, the Fiat 500L loses the top spot it held in 2013 with sales down a devastating 48% to 1,082 units, even though it held 11% of the market in February and was #1 year-to-date up until June. The Skoda Fabia becomes the best-selling nameplate in the country thanks to sales up 18% to 1,186 and 5.9% share just as the third generation of the model launched towards the end of the year. The Skoda Octavia is down 3% but climbs on the podium, followed by the Dacia Sandero and Hyundai i30. We welcome the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Cee’d in the Top 10 and the Fiat Punto Classic tumbles down 62%.
