Malawi Full Year 2014: Toyota above 50% share, Hilux #1

Toyota sales in Malawi account for more than half the market.

For the second year in a row I can share with you official sales data for Malawi, a market down 8% year-on-year in 2014 to 1,558 registrations. Toyota tightens its stranglehold on the market, crossing the 50% market share mark at 50.7% despite sales down 4%, while Ford improves to 17.6% in 2nd place and Hyundai makes its entrance inside the Top 5. Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux is still master in command with 21.1% share, the Ford Ranger gains 2.7% market share in 2nd place, the Toyota Land Cruiser multiplies its sales by 2.5 at #3 and the Corolla jumps to #4.
