New Zealand August 2014: Honda Jazz now inside Top 5

Another record month for commercial vehicles in New Zealand: up 15% year-on-year to reach 3,002 registrations, the highest August score since records began in 1981. Passenger cars are up a more discreet 3.5% to 7,066 units, adding up to 10,068 units for the month, up 7% on August 2013 and bringing the year-to-date total to 82,594 units, up 13% on 2013. The Ford Ranger remains atop the models sales charts at 548 units and 5.4% share, also reclaiming the year-to-date lead off the Toyota Hilux thanks to 3,842 sales and 4.7% vs. 3,739 and 4.5%.
The Toyota Corolla ranks 2nd with a strong 4.6% share vs. 3.9% year-to-date with the Holden Commodore up to #4 both in August and year-to-date. The new generation Honda Jazz has definitely struck a chord with Kiwi car buyers: it breaks into the Top 5 this month with 264 sales and 2.6% share. Other great performers in New Zealand in August include the Toyota Highlander up to #10 and the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross up to a best-ever #27.
