For the first time on BSCB I can share with you an all-models ranking for Colombia, even including medium and heavy commercial vehicles! These add up to no less than 448 models… The Colombian new car market is up 3% year-on-year over the First Half of 2014 to 144,142 registrations, which could indicate a Full Year 2014 above 300,000 units as the Second Half is traditionally stronger in Colombia. There is a (rare) change of leadership in the models ranking: the Chevrolet Spark overtakes the Sail to lead the way over the period thanks to sales up 15% to 9,038 units and 6.3% share vs. 8,580 and 6% for the Sail, leader over the Full Year 2013. Keep in mind however that the Spark sales figures include the previous generation (named Spark Life) as well as the current one (Spark GT) in Colombia.

Renault Duster Colombia June 2014The Renault Duster is up to #4 in Colombia this year.

Renault places 3 models in the Top 6 like one year ago, but in a different order: the Sandero rounds up the podium once again with 6,948 sales and 4.8% share, the Duster is up two spots to #4 and 5,451 units and the Logan is down two to #6, just above the Chevrolet Tracker stable at #7. Excellent performance of the Kia Picanto up 64% to 5th place, as well as the Ford Fiesta up 46% to #8, Kia Rio up 20% to #9 and Hyundai i10 up 185% to #10. Notice also the Kia Sportage up 119% to #12, Renault Clio up 82% to #14, Ford Escape up 42% to #19 and the Kia Cerato up 80% to #27.
