Denmark June 2014: VW Up and Ford Ka on top

First appearance of the Peugeot 108 in the Danish sales charts this month.

Danish new car sales are up a meagre 0.1% year-on-year in June to 17,572 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to a record 98,900 units halfway through the year, up 7% on 2013. In the brands ranking, Volkswagen continues to dominate with 1,982 sales and 11.3% share, ahead of Ford (9.3%), Renault (8.2%) and Toyota (6.7%) while Peugeot is kicked down from #2 in May to #5. The VW Up is the best-selling model in the country for the 23rd month in a row (!) thanks to 834 sales and 4.7% share and is followed this month by the Ford Ka up 15 spots on May to a beautiful 2nd place. The Nissan Qashqai is up a further two spots to #5 vs. #13 year-to-date, the Hyundai i10 is up 4 to #11, Hyundai i30 up 9 to #14, Citroen C4 Picasso up 10 to #16, BMW 3 Series up 23 to #17, Mazda3 up 9 to #21 and Tesla Model S up 29 to #69. We welcome two newcomers in the ranking this month: the Peugeot 108 landing at #64 and the Citroen C4 Cactus at #70.
