Greece June 2014: Hyundai i20 takes the lead in market up 41%

Another very satisfying month for new car sales in Greece, up 41% year-on-year in June to 7,964 units, the highest monthly result since January 2012! The year-to-date total halfway through 2014 now stands at 37,469 units, up 23% on 2013. Brand-wise, Nissan lodges a second consecutive month atop the ranking thanks to 834 sales and 10.5% share just above Toyota (10.2%) with Opel rounding out the podium at 9.3%. Hyundai is up 8 spots on May to #4 and 8% share and places the i20 in pole position of the models ranking at 533 units and 6.7%. The Toyota Yaris is back up one spot to #2 and remains leader year-to-date with 2,135 sales and 5.7% vs. 2,072 and 5.5% for the Opel Corsa down two ranks to #3 this month. Notice also the Nissan Qashqai at #5 vs. #11 year-to-date, the Opel Astra up 19 ranks on May to #7, the Seat Mii at #14 vs. #27 YTD, Skoda Citigo at #16 vs. #30 and the Chevrolet Matiz up 16 to #33 vs. #63.
